Crypto Investors Under Attack From New Malware, Reveals Cisco Talos

Two malicious files – MortalCombat ransomware and Laplace Clipper malware – are actively prowling the internet and stealing cryptocurrencies from unsuspecting investors.

Identified by anti-malware software Malwarebytes, these two malware are actively targeting crypto investors in desktop environments.

Victims are primarily located in the United States, with a small percentage of victims in the United Kingdom, Turkey, and the Philippines.

Once infected, Mortal Kombat ransomware encrypts user's files and leaves a ransom note with payment instructions,
